Awards season

Su Butcher caused a stir when she reported on sexism at the Construction Manager of the Year Awards. Su was overwhelmed by the response and has since posted a follow-up blog summarising this. Well done Su, we hope this will stimulate change.

The Construction Marketing Awards received some more favourable media coverage, with comments such as ‘a great sense of positivity could be felt across the entire venue as the night successfully showcased the very best of construction marketing’. (Nick Pauley, Pauley Creative). Ian Exall, Chair of Judges for the Construction Marketing Awards said: “It’s great to see the construction marketing community continuing to raise the bar, and deliver real bottom-line improvement for their employers.” Our apprentice, Emily Johnson provides her view on the evening and what awards have inspired her marketing.

For more ideas the Construction Marketing Association on the other side of the Atlantic have announce the winners for their Construction Marketing Start Awards. If this has inspired you to nominate a construction marketing star of your own then entries are still being taken for the Rising Star Awards but hurry they close on Monday 11th January.
