Chris Ashworth Chris has over twenty five years sales and marketing experience in the building products sector working with blue chip companies. He has held front line marketing positions launching new products and developing markets as well as heading sales teams selling to specifiers, distributors and contractors. In addition to working in the UK, his international experience has included the Middle East, many European countries and a period resident in Asia. Chris founded Competitive Advantage in 1999 and is a Member of the Institute of Management Consultancy, an Associate Member of the Market Research Society, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Marketer. Rachel Ward A language graduate, Rachel is fluent in French. Upon graduation she joined Saint-Gobain Glass UK where she worked for 11 years, holding various sales and marketing positions including Technical Sales Executive, Product Marketing Manager and Marketing Manager, Ireland. She was a finalist in the Construction Industry's Young Achiever of the Year Awards.
Rachel has worked as an Associate with Competitive Advantage since 2005 taking on research, business development and strategy projects.

Jeremy Sumeray Jeremy's construction industry experience was gained with Lafarge, where he was Product Manager, then Head of Marketing for Redland Roofing Systems, followed by Lafarge Group Marketing Manager in the UK. His most recent role was as Director of Strategy for the UK Green Building Council, with specific responsibility to develop a roadmap to a sustainable built environment. Prior to this he was seconded, via the Sustainable Development Commission, to the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, Construction Sector Unit where he developed the UK Sustainable Construction Strategy.

Nichola Martland Having completed her education in 2000, gaining qualifications in Business Studies and Marketing, Nichola worked for Pirelli Cables as a Marketing Co-ordinator and an Internal Sales Co-ordinator before joining Competitive Advantage in 2002. Her first project was an interim marketing role with a brick manufacturer. Since than Nichola has specialised in research - conducting numerous customer satisfaction and profiling projects; interviewing clients, architects, engineers, contractors, house builders, home-lifestyle retailers, builders merchants and specialist wholesalers. Nichola holds the Professional Diploma in Marketing and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Steve Miller Steve has a wealth of business experience gained from a 35 year career in the construction products industry. Focussing primarily on the sustainability aspects of companies and products, he is also able to advise on technical and production issues. He joined Hanson in 1972 where his roles included Works Manager, Head of Environmental and Production Services, Technical Director and Head of Sustainability. He took early retirement in 2008. As a consultant, Steve's wealth of experience is available to help companies resolve issues of Sustainability and Environmental regulations. This can cover areas such as advice, development and review of strategies, undertaking audits and provision of training.

Marianne Barrow Marianne graduated from the University of the West of England with a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies in 1993. She worked for various market research agencies as Researcher and Field Controller, responsible for data collection and focus groups facilitation, working on both qualitative and quantitative research projects. In 2001 she gave up full time employment to become a full time mother, joining Competitive Advantage as a researcher on a part-time basis in 2008.
Anna Game A graduate in Corporate Communications, Anna's experience was gained working in advertising and PR, both with agencies and clients over a period of 7 years. Her experience includes work in engineering and interior fit-out. Joining Competitive Advantage in 2008, she has responsibility for co-ordinating the consultancy's marketing activity, including web site development and marketing communications.
